Valdi Vatnsberi

Valdi Vatnsberi, whose full name was Guðvaldur Jón Sigfússon, was the one who carried drinking water to the houses in Þórshöfn before there was a proper water supply. He would do so with a smile on his face and usually humming some song while he worked. The aluminum sculpture in the town park was made in memory of Valdi by Jóhann Ingimarsson better known as Nói.

There is another aluminum sculpture on the rocks by the harbour which is called Langanesfuglinn, or the Langanes bird.
