Fossá

Fossá is located 500 m south of Þórshöfn, you can see the sign and the river that runs straight into the ocean. You can take a little hike along the river and up to the waterfall, it's not that far so it's a comfortable walk for the whole family. The view from the waterfall is beautiful. When the weather is good you can take a swim in some places in the river that are deep enough or even just dip your toes in. In the late summer you should be able to pick crowberries and blueberries along the way. It's possible to walk further than the waterfall, after a few minutes walking you should find a bridge over the river.
